LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced the introduction of the first e-taxi service in the province, which will not only improve travel facilities on modern lines but will also play an important role in reducing environmental pollution.

According to government sources, this e-taxi service will consist of modern electric vehicles, which are completely environment-friendly and run without using any fuel.  These vehicles will not only reduce the cost of petrol and diesel, but also reduce the problem of air pollution in urban areas.

With the launch of e-taxi service, the common citizens will be provided better and cheaper travel facility.  Electric taxis will have lower fares than conventional taxis, as they do not require petrol or diesel.  Moreover, electric vehicles produce less noise, which will also reduce noise pollution in cities.

A Punjab government spokesperson says that in the initial phase, the service will be introduced in major cities like Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Faisalabad, and later it will be extended to other cities.

According to experts, the e-taxi service will significantly reduce air pollution in Punjab, especially in cities like Lahore where smog is a serious problem.  Electric vehicles will help reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other toxic gases, which is essential to mitigate the effects of climate change.

The Punjab government has partnered with the private sector for this project.  Initially, 500 electric vehicles will be allocated for this service.  Special centers will be established for the purchase and charging of these vehicles so that the citizens do not face any problem.

Citizens have appreciated the government's decision saying that it will not only be better for the environment but also improve the quality of travel facilities.  "We are happy that the government is trying to solve our problems through modern technology," said a citizen.

Punjab's first e-taxi service will not only revolutionize the transport sector but also set an example for other provinces of Pakistan.  This project will not only improve travel facilities but will also bring significant progress in the field of environmental protection.
